Supported by long-term partner the US Embassy, ASA recently welcomed US female soccer star, Joanna Lohman, to the ASA Youth Edu-Soccer Development Center at Global Jaya School in Bintaro to work with 150 youth stakeholders during a Women Empowerment through Soccer Development Coaching Clinic.
Joanna Lohman is a US professional soccer player who plays for the Washington Spirit of the American National Women’s Soccer League. In addition, she has served as the general manager of the Washington Freedom Futures, the Washington Freedom Soccer Club’s W-League team. Joanna is also a former member of the United States women’s national soccer team and has helped launch an organization called GO! Athletes that encourages schools to create safer spaces for athletes.
Joanna was brilliant working with the 150 youth, especially the female soccer players, by empowering them through the coaching developing activities!
ASA would like to say a massive thank you to both Joanna and the US Embassy for making this program possible, and furthermore, Joanna has already promised to return to Asia to support more ASA projects across the region!
