ASA & US Embassy Sports-based Conflict Resolution Banten, Indonesia

Supported by long-term project partner, US Embassy in Jakarta, ASA Foundation recently launched another sports-based conflict resolution project across Banten, Indonesia called “Life Skills for American Sports”. 16 male and female teacher trainers from schools and pesantrens across Lebak and Pandeglang were screened, selected and subsequently trained by ASA through intensive Training of Trainer (ToT) Master training activities which developed their capacity to deliver Conflict Resolution and Life Skills education through participatory learning workshops together with practical Edu-Sports development workstations. The trainers have now returned to their respective schools and pesantrens in order to deliver the Youth Step Down Training (YSDT) programming activities to their male and female students on a weekly basis.

Over the next 6 months, the trainers will be mentored, monitored and evaluated by ASA using newly updated M&E tools including video based interviews developed in collaboration with UNICEF and F.C. Barcelona in Spain.
