ASA & Navigat Energy Elite Edu-Soccer Academy Development program in Sorong, West Papua

ASA, supported by Navigat Energy, implemented an Elite Edu-Soccer Academy in Sorong, West Papua.

The primary objective of the Elite Edu-Soccer Academy program is to develop local youth players on a long-term sustainable basis through regular Life Skills and Health education workshops together with professional soccer coaching activities. By nurturing the very best of the best youth soccer talent in West Papua, ASA and Navigat hope the squads, with a maximum of 20 players in each age group, can then link into possible team national and European professional club opportunities. ASA is already looking at ways in which to provide their best female player, Murni, with a scholarship to Europe or the US.

Furthermore, 2 of the leading ASA Navigat Energy Sorong based coaches joined the highly successful ASA & Scort Foundation project in Indonesia where they were trained by the professional soccer coaches from F.C. Basel, Austria Vienna and S.V. Werder Bremen.

And the 2000 students who were trained by the 25 x ToT Trainer stakeholders on Life Skills and Health education workshops will continue with the program in their respective villages across Sorong. ASA will continue to monitor and evaluate all these beneficiaries.DSC_0920
