ASA & US Embassy delivers cross-country Peace Building activities

After the success of the Training of Trainers (ToT) Master Training American Sports for Peace projects in Ambon (Malukus) and Madura (East Java), ASA, in collaboration with long-term project partner the US Embassy, delivered a highly successful 12 month Sports-based Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) education program across Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

The cross-country project implementation was two fold by focusing on the Sports-based “Training of Trainer” (ToT) Master Training program for young adult teacher groups of mixed religions in Klaten and Solo (Indonesia), Kelantan and Sabah (Malaysia) together with Hat Yai, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat (Southern Thailand) that is specifically designed to build their capacity to deliver grass roots Sports-based Violent Extremism Prevention Education for youth beneficiaries in their respective universities susceptible to violent extremism, hence, this program also contributed to developing the local capacity of over 10,500 disadvantaged youth in these target areas.
